PETRICHOR
After enduring years of anguish over her best friend Aleena’s unsolved murder, Mira is killed by a mysterious man when she gets too close to finding the truth. But instead of succumbing to death, she is propelled back in time to the exact day Aleena disappeared. With fragmented knowledge, she sets out on a desperate journey to prevent the crime, only to uncover a dark secret that plunges her into a relentless cycle of recurring tragedy.
“Petrichor” serves as a proof of concept for a feature length film that delves into social issues surrounding Asian identity and the experiences of Asian diasporas in the United States. It confronts the complexities of fetishization and cultural erasure, seamlessly weaving these themes into a haunting and evocative narrative.
