PETRICHOR
When Mira starts to uncover the truth behind her best friend Aleena’s murder, she’s killed by an unknown figure, but magically thrust into the past giving her a chance to save her. Instead, she unearths a sinister secret that traps them both in a relentless cycle of tragedy. Can they break this cycle from hell?
Petrichor was born from something deeply personal, my own experience being fetishized as a mixed Asian woman, and the fiercely loving friendship I share with my best friend. But it also comes from outrage. In American society, missing Asian individuals are often invisible, their stories underreported, their names erased by systemic neglect. As a lifelong true crime consumer, I’ve seen firsthand how rarely these cases are given the urgency and visibility they deserve. The numbers are staggering: over 600,000 people go missing in the U.S. every year, yet the surname “Nguyen”, shared by more than 437,000 people, has roughly about 21 public missing persons cases. Common Asian names like “Kim” vanish into databases, buried under irrelevant results like “Kimberly.” This project is my fight to bring those missing voices back into the light, to tell the stories very few, if anyone at all, are telling.
NARCISSE
A disillusioned financier, trapped in a loveless marriage and haunted by his failures, is drawn into a consuming connection with a much younger art student, leading them on a road trip through memory, desire, and ruin as they destine for a landscape that resembles a lost painting, but not all what we see is what's true.
